GRAIN IS COMPAC
Sustainable and secure - that is our promise!
Our portfolio consists of the most valuable products. In the grain market we trade in wheat, corn, barley, sunflower oil, sunflower meal and soybean meal. Our company is currently in a very dynamic process, in which we are actively looking for new partners and trying to collaborate with them in new areas.
Grain
Wheat
Wheat is the most widely grown agricultural commodity in the world. Acreage planted to wheat exceeds that of all other crops combined. The global crop size for 2022 is significantly higher than previous years. COMPAC's strategic positioning gives it access to all major wheat-producing countries.
Barley
Global barley trade continues to flourish at a high level, reaching approximately 29 million tons. Barley ranks second among the most cultivated grains and is primarily used as animal feed, but is also valued as malting barley for brewing purposes.
Rye
Rye holds greater significance in Central Europe, particularly in Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland and parts of Germany. Its origins can be traced back to the Caucasus region and to present-day Iran and Iraq. It first came into wheat cultivation as a weed.
Corn
Corn is one of the world's most important food crops, along with wheat and rice. Therefore, it is of great importance in COMPAC's portfolio. The leading corn-growing countries include China, the United States, Brazil, India, Mexico, Nigeria and Argentina.

Soybean
Soybeans are considered one of the world's most important crops. The figures also show this: Since the 1960s, soybean production has increased more than 13 times, from 27 to 354 million tons in 2022.
Mustard Seed
Mustard seed originated in China, where it was cultivated about 3,000 years ago. From there, it passed through Greece to the ancient Romans, who introduced it to Germany. Today, white, brown and black mustard plants are grown worldwide. The color of the mustard seeds indicates the degree of spiciness.
Rapeseed
The main rapeseed growing countries are Canada, China, India, Germany, and France. Farmers primarily grow rapeseed for its oil content, as the seeds contain approximately 45% oil.
Sunflower Seed
In 2022, a total of 58,185,634 tons of sunflower seeds were harvested worldwide. The top ten producers accounted for 86.6% of the global harvest.
